Trust & security
The principle behind everything: AI never decides anything about a person. It reads paperwork; your staff confirms every record before it is saved.
Built so your IT department and city attorney get straight answers without a sales call. Anything unclear? Email us — a person answers.
Your data
- Encrypted in transit and at rest, on U.S. servers.
- Never used to train AI models. Not ours, not anyone's.
- You own it — all of it, always.
More detail
Full export anytime, in standard formats — you are never locked in. Written deletion confirmation at offboarding, after your export is delivered.
SkyBadge is built to run on agency-controlled, on-premise AI infrastructure as a deployment option on our roadmap.
The Freedom Guarantee
Your data is yours. Export everything yourself, anytime, free — even if you leave, even if you don't pay. Records that protect officers should never be held hostage.
More detail
- Self-serve full export.Your coordinator — not us — clicks “Export everything” in Settings and downloads all records, certifications, audit history, and original roster images as standard CSV + PDF + images in one zip. No permission, no fee, no waiting.
- Non-payment policy, in writing. If an agency stops paying, the account goes read-only for 90 days — you can still view and export everything. After the window: full export delivered, then deletion with a written certificate.
Accountability
Every change is written to an append-only, tamper-evident audit log — who, what, when, before and after. Entries cannot be edited or deleted, including by us.
More detail
Records entered after the fact are permanently flagged as retroactive. A record filed three weeks late looks like a record filed three weeks late, forever.
When counsel or an auditor asks for proof, SkyBadge produces a court-ready certified export of an officer's complete training history — dates, hours, instructors, and the audit trail behind them.
Access and roles
Individual accounts only — no shared station passwords. Role-based access, enforced in the database.
More detail
Coordinators manage records, chiefs see read-only dashboards, and officers see only their own records. These rules are enforced in the database with row-level security, not just hidden in the interface.
Subprocessors
We name the vendors that operate parts of the platform — hiding them reads as evasive. Each is bound to the same data protections we promise you.
More detail
- Supabase — database and authentication, hosted in the United States.
- Anthropic — AI processing (reading rosters, answering questions). No training on your inputs.
- Voyage AI — search indexing for document questions — no officer records.
- Twilio — SMS and voice reminders.
- Resend — email delivery.
Reliability
Monitored around the clock; failures page the founder directly. Current status and incident history are public at skybadge.ai/status.
More detail
- Scheduled jobs are monitored — if a nightly job fails to run, we are alerted.
- An automated nightly check reviews the data for inconsistencies and reports what it finds.
- Error monitoring is wired into both the site and the backend.
- Operational failures page the founder directly.
Scope, honestly
SkyBadge manages training records — personnel data, not criminal justice data. We do not connect to CJIS systems.
More detail
We accept only training-records data: no criminal-case data, no medical records, no data about minors.
Agreements and cookies
Data processing agreement available on request.
No tracking cookies — no advertising, no analytics, so there is no cookie banner.
Email and SMS practices
Unsubscribe always works. STOP always works. Consent first, both channels.
More detail
- Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribes are honored (CAN-SPAM).
- SMS messages are sent only with consent, and replying STOP is always honored (TCPA).
Security questions
Security questions go to the founder directly: hello@skybadge.ai. You get the person accountable for the system, not a ticket queue.
Send this page to your IT department — we answer anything.
